We knew our knowledge and training for Listeners were among the best in the profession when we launched HearMe, and we've witnessed the genuine power of how true, empathic listening can alter lives since then. After two years of refining our training and listening to your input, we are excited to now offer this exciting course to the general public as well as you, our valued community.
Madelon Guinazzo, our Director of Training, has produced a course that will help you improve your listening abilities. It is useful not only for HearMe listeners but also for anybody who wants to better their connections and be more attuned to others. Over the course of four lessons, you'll learn how to improve your active, empathetic listening abilities, including how to hold a conversation.

What is HearMe Listening Academy?
Our first course, “The Power of Empathetic Listening,” is a four-module, self-paced, online introductory exploration of active and empathetic listening principles designed to uplevel and build on the skills you have.
Why do I need it?
Listening is one of the most important skills you can have in the world today and is critical across fields and sectors. “The Power of Empathetic Listening” is an essential course designed to give you both the tools you need to improve your active listening skills, and the most successful strategies for using them to guide others to their own experience and wisdom. HearMe Listening Academy will help you build on the skills you have, establish deeper connections, build trust and goodwill, bridge understanding, and empower and be responsive to others. The course will also allow students to get first-hand experience not typically available in a university setting of what it’s like to work in related fields, like social work, psychology, and human services.
Who is this course for?
What does the course entail?
The course is composed of four modules covering topics including holding space for others, embodiment and somatic awareness, cultural competencies, and elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The course takes approximately 10-15 hours to complete, but you are free to start the course when you want and go at your own pace to finish it. Each module is taught by our premier expert and Director of Training, Madelon Guinazzo, who will guide you through short pre-recorded exercises and prompt you to respond to questions. You will also receive a set of resources to further your learning.
What will you receive?
Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate and seal to include on your resume, LinkedIn profile, portfolio, etc. This can be a valuable asset in your professional development in this field.
